What’s in a name…?
Hey there. Welcome. I’m Stephanie, thanks for visiting my corner of the world. Excited to type this post, it’s my first one, but also a bit hesitant as there’s so much to share. So…after google docs of concepts and workflows of ideas, I’ve decided to allow this to be not so rehearsed.
The name of this site was inspired by one of my social media handles. In 2014, a friend told me that, as a marketing professional, I was not keeping up with social media trends and I immediately needed an Instagram account. After some chiding, I decided to create one, but I didn’t want just any old social media handle, it had to be something humorous, yet meaningful; spiritual, yet snarky…kinda like me.
After a few tries at names, all that were already taken, I visited a Sanskrit language site and flipped through a dozen or so words…. and after about 5 minutes, I found it! CHIT!!!!! In Sanskrit, Chit means consciousness. In English slang, people often use chit instead of the word shit. It isn’t uncommon for me to say, I gotta own my shit. Which personal meaning to me is, own my behavior, take responsibility for my energy and actions. And that is the brief and not-so-exciting story of how I came up with the name, Evolve Chit
Evolve Consciousness. Evolve Shit.
As I type this post in November 2020, it goes without saying that these are strange days we are living in. The world is at a pivot. It has the makings of an epic movie and probably not with a fairytale ending, but I know we are all here at this very moment in our history for important reasons, and to fulfill our individual and collective purpose.
My goal with this website/blog is to share with you my personal experiences after having experienced major life changes and a dark night of the soul, as the internet spiritual gurus call it these days. It was quite a dark and painful experience, but I have come through with greater self-awareness and more in tune with myself. Unapologetically and authentically.
I have tried so very many things to help me get to this place… from readings to rituals, from books to crystals, to doing absolutely nothing and everything in between. On these pages, I will share valuable information and tools that I hope will inspire you on your path.
Always thought I was a fairly “woke” individual until I realized I wasn’t, and no one really is… probably not even the most wokest among us, His Holiness, The Dalai Lama. We all are constantly work in progress. I heard a great quote recently and it deeply resonates with what is important on my personal journey. I hope it inspires you as well to open up and start your own personal rebellion and Evolve Chit.
