What If I Let Go?

Lately, I’ve been asking myself What if I let Go? What if I let go of how I always did things? What if I let go of shitty belief systems? What if I let go of self-sabotaging behaviors? What if I let go…? What if I let go….?

What if we let go of things that no longer served us? Those thoughts, feelings, the pants you’ve been wanting to get back into again…. What if you just really loved yourself as you are today and let the fuck goooooooooo?!

Etch-a-sketch erase the limiting perceptions and imprinted mutated stories of your sense of self, how you relate to others. I have found that stating the things that I believe in disbelief and disagreement has helped me immensely in identifying untrue and distorted thoughts/beliefs/perceptions.

For example: Let’s say you have a limiting belief about how you are perceived at work. Perhaps you are really hard on yourself and an overachiever. Why do you do it? In many cases, one thinks they have to take on everything to show their value.

How do you counter this when you are feeling stuck or inadequate?

An equation for letting go

  • State a limiting belief about not being enough at work or whatever your projection

  • Respond with an incredulous response of No Way! How absolutely untrue it is

  • Affirm it with some of your awesome accomplishments and things you are proud of that you were a part of and accomplished

    • No way do I have to work harder! Everyone loves my work. I am so proud of my accomplishments, too. List some things you are proud of that you have done.

When you’re ready to let go. Be mindful to catch the negative or self-defeating inner conversation, limiting beliefs, and unhealthy projections. Repeat the equation for letting go. Repeat it numerous times if you have to. Some research suggests replacing a negative thought with 3 positive thoughts to counter negative and reinforce balanced and positive.
